What are you having problems with that you hope this product will solve?

Opti-Lube XPD is the ultimate in performance diesel fuel additives. The best diesel fuel additive on the market.
Opti-Lube XPD’s primary purpose is to increase the lubricity properties of ultra low sulfur diesels (ULSD). However, improving Lubricity is just the beginning. XPD Formula is a multi-functional additive for upgrading the quality and enhancing the performance of diesel fuels. XPD simultaneously improves lubricity, efficiency, cleans injectors, improves Cetane by up to 3 points and contains an anti-gel to keep your fuel flowing down to -10° F.* XPD does not contain any harmful alcohol. |

I ran this for a while in my 2004 and it made a noticeable difference in engine noise, idle smoothness and I gained a whopping 0.2 mpg. I've also run the summer treatment, and that did the same thing, but I gained 0.3 mpg. The only reason I kept using it was because a) I bought a gallon and was only driving 50 miles a week, so it lasted forever, and b) I figured the smoother and quieter idle was most likely a byproduct of better ignition and pump lubrication, and that couldn't be a bad thing.

following to see what the determination is on using additives in 4th gens.. i ran optilube in my 05, and it was fantastic stuff.... driving a '14 now and haven't used lubricant, but would like to

Ive used fuel additives in all my diesels and even gassers. Ive worked on enough cars and trucks and seen the byproduct of todays crappy fuels, lower octane and lower cetane fuels leave carbon build up in the motor.
I know plenty of people will disagree and im not looking to get into the science of it, im just going to provide my 2 cents. I like Howes lubricant and Ive seen my MPG go up 1mpg when mixed with a cetane booster. A new cetane booster i tried was by royal purple and thats when i saw the big boost in mpg. I drive over 500 miles a week and its the same route to and from work so i know what my normal average mpgs are. I usually run standynes cetane booster, a local fuel injection shop highly recommended them to me years ago and ive always had good results. Here in CA the cetane rating in diesel is lower than most other states. jason |
