Please explain the throttle valve delete to me
I read about the tuner needed to shut off stuff, and the replacement exhaust pipe, and the block off plates on the top of the engine.
But heard about the TV delete, but cannot find any info for it. Can someone please explain it a bit, and a pic of what it is would be great if someon ehas one. |
Throttle valve is in the intake horn betweek the intercooler and the engine on the drivers side. for basic deletes, it does not have to be deleted but just unplugged.

What is the purpose for unplugging it?

to make sure it does not close when the rest of the system is deleted. if it closes and the rest of the system is deleted, the truck dies pretty quick

The Throttle valve delete is a physical replacement for the throttle valve that ensure it cannot close and cause intake issues. If you are full deleting its a quick and easy install and relatively inexpensive....
Throttle Valve Delete It removes the butterfly valve and leaves ZERO chance of it accidentally closing. This is a picture of a TVD (this is a Shibby, there are others on the market) Attachment 64371 It replaced the entire throttle valve assembly shown here. Attachment 64372 Attachment 64373 It is installed by removing the four bolts that hold the Throttle valve assembly in place, removing the boot clamp, and then reinstalling. Here is a picture of it installed. Attachment 64374 |
Thanks Blake, your always coming to answer questions, and awesome at it. :)

Has anyone done the deletes and thought about leaving the throttle valve in place, just rewiring it to use as an emergency shut down in case of a run away?
