Maybe going back to a 6.7
Maybe going back to a 6.7
Tell a little story. First Cummins was a new 2002 5.9 6 speed manual 2500 quad. Loved the truck, miss everything thing about it, it was a great truck. Great for towing our RV and what I wanted. Problem was wife had a hard tine driving the 6 speed manual. So sold it and got a 2006 5.9 auto. Another good truck. No white knuckles towing and a real truck. Never no issues. Decided to sell it, sold it for a good price. I bought a ram 1500 big horn 5.9 gas. Great truck empty from 0 to 60 but kind of sucks for power, fuel mileage when towing our RV. I'm looking at going back to a 3500 6.7 D/O. I haven't followed much since I left my 2006 5.9. Is the 6.7 just as good or better or should I be looking at other D/O brands.
Have a 2018 SLT, my 5th Ram diesel. Started with a late 2004 5.9 (chipped) and kept on going newer. My 18 6.7 empty gets around 20-22 mpg highway doing 75-80 mph. Around town 15 or so. No complaints about power as I had chipped the 5.9 but running the 6.7 stock. The 18 gets a little better mileage than my 2014 and the 18 has a few more features. Overall I'm extremely happy with the truck. Like anything there are a few quirks but nothing serious.
