I am told that there is some kind of filter under the valve cover of my 2010 Cummins that needs to be changed every 50-60,000 miles. My truck is deleted and has been since 2500 miles. Does anyone know anything about this filter? How hard is it to change out?

 

changed at 67500 miles, very easy to change. Just need 8mm socket, 1/4 drive with extention. Lift cover off pull out filter install new filter ten minute job.

 

OK thanks Big Iron, do you need a valve cover gasket or does the old one work?

 

I think it is part of the new filter.

 

Reusable, just make sure it didn't come out of the valve cover when reinstalling cover over the filter. Service required will showup on dash display at 67500 miles. Press brake twice and gas pedal twice with key on then key off to reset service minder.
