exhaust brake with 6 speed manual?

I ordered a 2010 Laramie MegaCab last saturday from the local dealer. I ordered it with the 6 speed manual. My friend who I consider quite knowledgable on Dodge Trucks believes that the exhause brake is not an option when the truck has a manual transmission. Is this true?

Based on what I was told by a dealer (consider the source) and have read, the exhaust brake is now standard equip (not an option) on all Cummins powered Rams regardless of transmission. Ed

Yes they are standard .. Not only does it slow you down but it is used to bring up exhaust temps for the emissions control system..

Thank you for the help. My dealer did not know. This is the first diesel pickup I have owned and am really excited. I grew up with my father and brothers powerstrokes but both now curse them since they done away with the 7.3. I test drove many before I committed and I know I made the right choice with the cummins. Based on what I read on previous threads I have about a 6 week wait. Does anyone know the factory number? I believe speaking with them once a week on the status would be more efficient then with my dealer.
