Creaking from front wheel

The other day at a drive thru, I heard a creaking sound as I drove along the building.
Is the front drive shaft splined? I ask because it is the same noise the splined shaft of my motorcycle made if there was not enough grease on the splines.
I have not taken anything apart yet. Only other thought would be a wheel bearing.

EDIT:
Looking on Rock Auto, it appears that the front bearing hub assembly is splined. Guess I will start there, AFTER checking warranty. Past the 3/36 and doubt the hub assembly is "power train."

Bearings are not covered under power train warranty.
