Question Checking Codes on 2013?

Hey all, -41 here this morning and the trucks aren't too happy, got a few engine lights on. Does anybody know how to check codes on a 2013 with the push to start button instead of a key? I have a mini maxx in my 12 but its all installed nicely and don't wanna pull it out to check codes on the 13. Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure the mini max won't work as the ECM is different. My son is using my code reader, it's just the cheap one from Princess Auto on sale for $39 but normally less than $100. I would buy one and keep it in the truck, you are going to need it, at least that way you can read the codes yourself and rest them if you want to. Watch for p1c55 with p0402 p040b which are exhaust codes.

Ya, I have a code reader as well sitting at home in the shop. Took it out of the truck since the mini maxx does all that. The 13 isn't my truck just a buddy I work with was asking about it. So verdict is no procedure for getting codes on the odometer?

My sons 2013 is key less entry and we haven't found a way other than with the OBD2 code reader. The remote start won't work either if there are codes stored. Have a look at the hours on the engine, the 2013 splits the time between "run" and "idle" if there are lots of idle time chances are it's the exhaust and may need a clean out, cost my kid $600 and they told him every 50k it will need to be done.

Checking Codes on 2013?

Can't you "pop" the push button out and use your key? On earlier chryslers the push button simply covered the square key hole

I've said it once, I'll say it again: Every 4th gen owner should keep a code reader under their seat. Knowledge is power.
