5500 down no parts...

Crosstown motors in Edmonton, AB can not fix my 5500 they say truck is too new and they do not have parts for it. The rear end (4:88) was noisy so they have to replace it. Truck has been down since Aug 13 2008. No replacement vehicle, will not temp put back together ( it was working just noisy ) So now I am losing business, thanks Dodge!!! I went from loving my truck to despising it!!! Now I miss my Ford!!!

8000 km's on truck

A friend of mine had problems with his 5500 rear differential as well..I guess there is a possible recall in the making over it...have not seen anything in print on it yet..
Check on your local lemon laws as if you are down so many days it kicks in..

Noisy like a school bus?? like a whine? because mine does it too. Try Sherwood Park Dodge,im ydone with this "too new" BS, tell your dealer to fix it or go to a heavy duty shop and let them fix it and send your dealer the bill. The axle is a DANA S-110,very,very common in heavy duty trucks; if you look on the diff housing you will see the info with a parts code too

Edmonton sounds familiar to me. I have a 4500 in Calgary with 4.88 too, I had a factory defect in my hyd clutch, no part, then I called to Dodge service 1800 and made their life miserable.
The mostimportant thing is to put your truck in VOR and convence the dealer to put even an aftermarket part, because when dodge find the part you can change it again. Dodge pay for that not you.,
In my case my truck was out of road for one week, right after a week I start in the business, they almost put in bankrupt, after one month the offer me 1/2 monthly payment and I took, anyways, you may check with a lawer to ask for more.

Thanks Guys!!! I don't wanna upset hard core dodge guys, but now it is effecting my business.... and in turn effects my family… I will call 1-800 number and let them know, how can I make truck payment when it is in shop never mind bobcats payments. Will update everyone as soon as I get any customer service (if any)

Hey try and find a company (in Edmonton) that will rent a truck and allow you to tow a trailer…. Sheesh…

I just foound that on google,if I knew what front end is in them I probably could. By the way does the rear end just whine because they are spinning so fast to go 100km/h with the 4.88,thats very low gears and the Aisin is double over.
