Thumbs up

It has happened to me twice. The first time was my 1 month old '02 3500 4x4. I left dually marks across the right fender and hood of the car that pulled out. It snapped the leaf spring, bent the rear axle, and seperated the drive shaft. It took over three months to get it back where it was acceptable to own. Oh, it knocked the rear fender off as well, what a ride! I did not keep this truck. I was worried about the integrity of the frame and suspension. It took the majority of the time I was without the truck to get the frame and bed straight. I negotiated with a dealer and the insurance company to get diminished value and that helped my trade work out.

The second time was another car pulling put in front of me. There is a picture of that truck and the car in my gallery. That one totalled. Frame was bent in three places. Not many panels did not have dents. No way would I have ever owned this truck again, but it has been re-registered to a new owner as per Chrysler. Reconstruction, WOW!

I just read that Carfax gets it accident reports from police reports. The police were never involved so I might just be safe from any type of bad markings on a Carfax reports. My Dad said that makes sense seeing as how it would be a privacy issue for Baker Jackson, a private company, to give my info to another private company such as Carfax.

i only owe 15k on the truck and it should be worth somewhere in the high 20s.

And thanks guys for all the positive feedback, I have been a little emotionally shaken up about the accident and my new baby being busted that I haven’t been posting much on here. We will see what happens after the repairs. If nothing else it gives me an excuse to get a new truck.

MikeyB,
I have been eyeing one of the lifted 2500HDs in the Parkway Chevrolet parking lot. 63K though!!! They said with all rebates they can get it down to 47K.

Sorry to hear about that. Totaled a pristine 93 GT a few years ago and I still miss that car.
Shouldnt the body shop do an alignment??? Or are you saying to get another one done a few days after i get the truck back?

Yes they will, but if you wanna make sure everything is setting right and to make yourself feel better after driving it for awhile. Get another alignment from somewhere else. If its still perfectly aligned at that time, then its straight. If for some reason the alignment is off, there might be problems with something. Just a thought.

So what are you going to get next?
Hopefully not that ugly white Chevy 2500 CC 4x4 sitting on Parkway's lot.

I am taking the insurance money and running, I dont need to drop 50K on a truck right now when that Dmax above is better than the pre-emissons one. And ur right the new Chevys are hideous the lift is the only thing makes makes em semi-OK.
