WOW!! Can it be????

Took delivery of my new truck last day of August, 2004. Been driving it ever since, for everything. Love driving this truck.

Anyway, last Friday, took it to a local dealer to have some TSB's done, including the white smoke one. Didn't really have a chance to check it afterwards to see if it did anything to my mileage. The overhead usually ran about 1 to 1 1/2 mpg less then I was handcalculating, which seemed to run between 17.5 and 18 mpg. So the overhead was reading about 16 to 16.5. I was really up in the air as to whether or not I should really have this reflash done, because if it didn't really help, it was too late to do anything about it.

Today, after work, I swung into a station just around the corner from work, filled it up and then drove home. It took me about 45 minutes to drive 28 miles. My overhead hit a high of 21.1 mpg!! It had never been that high before. I would really like to know what my actual mileage will be, but I have to wait about a week and a half to fill it up again. Oh well, I guess I will just have to wait.

But 21.1??? Man, I sure hope that the real mileage is someplace close to that. That would be unreal, according to what I have seen others get with their rigs. Oh yeah, this rig is strictly stock, for now. And I couldn't believe the price I paid today either, $1.999. I think it is the first time I have seen it "below" $2.00 a gallon since I bought this thing.

I will let you know when I get around to filling it again and can handcalculate the actual mileage.

I hope nobody thinks that I am bragging about my mileage, because I am not. I am just letting y'all know what the reflash did for me. Other then the overhead, I didn't notice anything different about the way it ran. It ran just as well as it did before.

Let us know what the hand calc is after 3-4 tanks. I heard a RUMOR that the reflash causes the overhead to show some erroneous high numbers...It's just what I've heard maybe no truth to it...If it is true though that is sure awsome!!!!

Yeah, I've seen diesel as low as 1.83 now. Ponder, TX one has it 1.85, the other 50 feet down has it @ 1.85. Phillips 66 and Citco on 380.
