Will lorenz kit settle...?

Does the lorenz 2" leveling kit settle at all...? The front is now a tad higher than the rear.

It might but I doubt that it will be much. His coils are a high quality steel and made to his specs. He probably took settling into account when designing them. I've had mine in for 2 months and it still sits at the same height as when first installed.

I just installed mine on sunday, it was just a hair higher in the front. I haven't measured it since. It really wasn't that noticable to me.
How is your ride after the install compared to stock? Mine rides about the same as stock. I was under the impression that it would ride much much better than the stock ride.... I was a little disappointed, especially after spending almost a grand.
But hey, I think it looks great after adding the new tires. I just wonder if I should have saved some money and went with a spacer. In my opinion, my stock ride really wasn't too bad.

Did you pull measurements or just from eye balling it? Mine measures almost level if measured from the ground to the very bottom lip of the body, but eyeing it from the side the tops of the tires and the crease in the body show a touch more in the rear.

What spring rate did you go with? I noticed a big difference in the way the truck handles, the ride quality is close to stock, but cornering is vastly improved. 6% coils

6% coils and sway bar extended links with 4 bilstein shocks. I was under the impression that ride quality would vastly improve. The rough roads feel the same as they did before if not a hair worse.

I agree.. the ride does not seem to be any better, but deffinately handles different. I dont see how these people are saying it changed the ride so much for the better. (6%)

For me it did change the ride for the better, I like truck that rides like a truck (kinda old school I guess) the stock springs made the truck ride a bit more unbalanced, stiff in the rear (for the weight rating) and more like a GM suv in the front (kinda washy). It's more balanced now. But thats just me. The coils are 6% stiffer than stock so of course it's going to be a bit harder in the ride department. The biggest problem with the "poor" ride quality with these trucks isn't the spring rates but the short little control arms on the front axle, they should come from the factory with a long radius arm like some of the aftermarket, such as the one Thuren makes.

I was exactly level when I measured from the center of the wheel wells (outside) to the ground.

I also have a better than stock ride. I notice it on the corners and I also noticed it on the freeway bridge joints and bumpy freeways. It rides smoother and is not as jarring of a hit on the bridge joints. The truck also hugs the ground better when you hit a bump. With the stock suspension I could sometimes feel the front shift a little when you hit a sharp bump in the road or it was me jerking the wheel from the hard hit with the stock suspension.

Rides even better w/ the mini leafs and the best w/ full leafs in the rear.

i'm glad that there has some honest impressions posted here about high $$$ leveling kits. imo unless you are going to spend thousands of dollars on a full replacement suspension kit, the results you get from most leveling kits will be pretty similar with your choice of shocks being as important as the kit itself.

I've got the VR coils with the 2.25 kit, and there is a HUGE difference over stock. At first I could tell a difference just normal driving, and I would call it a slight to moderate improvement in front, and a big improvement in rear (dual purpose leafs).

However, after encountering a few railroad crossings and some offroad, I started pushing things a little harder. Needless to say, the harder you push these suspension systems, the better they seem to perform.

In particular, there's a double track railroad crossing near my brother's house with a good "hump" going over the tracks, and a sign that says 10 m.p.h. I was going to really push things, so I hit them at 25 - 30 mph, and things were pretty good, but definately jossled you around.

Then, I don't know what got into me, but I turned around and hit them again at 55 - 60 mph, and . I never even felt the tracks!!! I came up the incline of the hump, was in the air over both sets of tracks, and landed at the base of the hump on the other side! I couldn't beleive what had happened...it was soooooooo smooth, you never would've believe a 8,200 lb 1-ton truck had been airborn!

While I'm NOT recommending you act as childish as dangerously as I did, you may find that pushing the suspension a little harder than normal will allow them to really shine!

Remeber that a stock truck has about 1 1/2" rake. So the 2" coil Sean uses will bring the frontend level or a tad higher (not a drastic look). If you add the mini leafs down the road. It will raise the rear end roughly an 1/2"-1".

As for the ride quality. It does change the characteristics (sp?) of the front end w/ the Lorenz Level Kit. Limits body roll around curves. Having a adjustable trac bar and mini leafs into the mix. It will take care of any body roll. Your truck will not drive like a Cadiliac, but more like a BMW in handling. It also helps having the mini leafs or full leafs and shocks in the back to get the most out of your system. No more rear end hopping/bouncing and other.

Remember the 6% or 23% coil that Sean sells w/ his leveling or 5100 Sysytems. Is over the stock coil rate. So w/ the little valving you can do to the Bilstien 5100 shock. The valving is stiffer w/ a stiffer coil rate the ride will feel a tad rough over bumps, etc.. on slower speeds and soak up better faster speeds. Like your highway expansion joints, off road, railroad crossings and such nature.
