Question whats the max payload for myh truck

I went to the rock yard to pic up some arizona river rock for some landscaping and when I got there to get loaded I had no idea how much I could put in the bed of my truck. I ended up getting two scoops at 4000lbs truck went from stink bug to totally level drove fine. So did I over load my truck. I read the manual and it talked about gvrw but I'm not real sure as to what it all means. Any help would b great

As far as adot is concerned, you were probably over weight ,depending on what your registered for. Your truck probably weights around 6000 . As far as what the truck can haul, I have put several loads on at 4000+ just on the truck, and they handle it just fine. If I was hauling more than that I would get a trailer

I only have 2003 numbers but I don't think they've changed much. 4480# for a 2wd drw 3500.

Well I have a class B comercial licence as for the truck the door says gvrw is 11500 I asume that is total weight on the truck total including the weight of the truck. I know the truck can pull a large amount I'm just worried about the axel max load in the rear I don't want to blow out springs or a axel and go for out of controle ride from hell

If nameplate GVWR is 11500, and empty weight of the truck is near 6500, 11500-6500=5000lb. That's your legal payload!

On the driver's door column you will find weight of your empty truck (but with full tank and driver). That number comes from the factory and is specific to your vehicle. Each truck has different empty weight, as it is dependent on options installed.

Subtract it from 11,500 to obtain max. payload. I expect that you can carry about 5,200 lbs. I envy you!!!!
