Week of Mods........

This week I hope to get in the following items I ordered:

1) H2 Silver Satins. I am going tomorrow to speak with a local machine shop about opening up the bore size. I bought these for $250.00 shipped.

2) PSC Steering Brace; $148 shipped.

I am also dropping off a set of ATS Fender Flares at a local paint/body shop that will be painted silver, to match the silver color on the bottom portion of my truck. This is costing $228. These are going in Tuesday.

I am also getting the front windows tinted to match the factory tint on the rear windows. The rear windows are 17% from the factory, measured using a tint meter. The shop charges $75.00 for the two windows, with a lifetime warranty. This is scheduled for Wednesday.

The truck will also go in after the H2s are mounted up, for a front end alignment.

After this is all said and done, a spray-in liner is next on the list........

When I bought the flares, I got a great deal on the unpainted version.

I knew I would also have to modify the front set, where it mounts on the lower area of the backside of the front fender.

I have running boards that I did not want to remove, and I had to cut about 1/2" off of the the lower portion of the front flares.

I feared that if they were already painted, the paint would chip/crack and it would look bad. This way, the cutting/trimming was done before they got painted.

one of the cool things that i've noticed about the ats flares is, because of the rubber-like material, i've been able to trim them (in rear of front fender wells for tire clearance) and the paint doesn't chip or crack. i think ats mixes the same or similar stuff in their paint, that body shops mix in when they're spraying plastic bumpers and body parts, and that allows the flares to flex without cracking.

Sounds like a helluva set of upgrades, D45. Congrats. On the window tint, I would suggest having an "eyebrow" also done in matching tint on the front windshield. I think it looks good and also cuts ALOT of glare when driving east in the mornings or west in the evenings (which i do ALOT).

Not the best pictures showing the eyebrow, but it gives you an idea of what i'm talking about. The tint installer will know exactly what you are talking about when you mention the eyebrow and it should only be another $20 or so for it.
