so on low mile 4-5 year old trucks, how does waranty work. they always say to 60 or 100k or what ever. but what if its no where near that and 5 years is up. do they go from when the truck was bought? have been wondering this since im pushing 5 yrs. will have the truck wartany used up soon(100Kms) but lots left on the engine 160k

I believe all warranties are from the "In service date" . SO if someting is covered for say 3 years/36,000 miles then it is which ever comes first. If you have 3 years and only at 15,000 miles say then your warranty is up. On the engine warranty I believe it is 7 years. After 5 years I believe there is a 100 dollar deductible.

But Yes, your Warranty is from the INSERVICE date. The day she was first sold.

My truck had some miles on the odo when I bought it because of some quality audit it went through (there was a sticker on the window explaining the process). Dealer said the warranty started when I drove it off the lot.

Yep, makes sense. When you drive it off the lot that is the inservice date. So lets say it had 400 miles on it because they had to drive it from one dealer to the next then you would get 100,400 miles on the engine warranty.
