trailer brake fuse?

Guys,

Is there a fuse for trailer brakes on our trucks?

I've got a trailer with a Carlisle HydraStar XL Actuator on my boat trailer with a Tekonsha Primus contoller and all the sudden I have no brakes. I lost the brakes after I pulled my boat out of the water and there's no way in heck, I'm going to trailer a 12K load without brakes.

Trailer manufacture tells me to pull the break away to see if the actuator's working. He also tells if it does work, then it's on the truck side. Assuming it's on the truck side, I have to figure it's either some fuse or the controller went belly up. Anyone know what I might be able to check on the truck side?

Thanks!!

In the engine compartment, drivers side is a power distribution box. the back side of the cover lists the fuses and relays.

Thanks Bluebull. I just went out and checked the fuses and they all look good but is there any specific fuse I need to look at? I looked at the fuses for electric controller and trailer lights. If it's not a fuse(s), I guess it's on the trailer end.

Thanks.

Dig out the multimeter or a test light..... Do you own a Dodge? Can't tell with all your abbreviations. The only guys that learn all the abbreviations are Harley guys and Corvette guys.

Just pokin' at ya Actually I'm dumber than a rock

If I remember correctly there are two fuses for each component. A lite fuse and a heavy duty square looking fuse. There is also a relay type (bigger black) that might be giving problems. just swap the relay with another one. Had a relay go bad on me for the lift pump on my 99. pump would run intermittantly, relay was opening and closing periodicly causeing problems.
Also check the brake light fuse.
