tow mirrors are solid, got hit by a ford

i was driving around campus today, going about 20mph, one of the metro transit buses is coming the other way, crosses the center line, and smacks the living crap out of my drivers side mirror. didn't stop either. i stopped at the police station, said to come back and file a report. no damage, just a small scuff. the mirror that hit it was a steel mirror on an F550 bus chassis. now off to file a report. i guess i'd be much angrier if it had done any worthwhile damage, but still the guy needs to learn to drive and hopefully this will teach him.

Well, I wasn't so lucky! I hit a darn buzzard @ about 40mph. I couldn't believe the dang thing didn't get off the road. Before I realized he was taking off, BOOM. Popped out the mirror and shattered. Folded nicely. The housing was ok. Buzzard 1 Dodge 0. 40 bucks later, like nothing happened.

Some dork in a u-haul truck clipped mine headon with the corner of the box and it busted the end where the mirrior rotates so I could see the guts of the knuckle. It was raining hard and in traffic and I couldn't turn around to catch him. My dealer gave me a brake but still cost me $300 installed. LCH

swapped mirrows with a '02 PSD on a one lane county road bridge ,I was almost off and he didn't yield, and broke the glass in both our drivers side mirrows. Both arms slapped the drivers side windows breaking his window and not the Dodge. The glass in my wirrow was usable until I could get it fixed. His is still on the bridge in little pieces. So much for Ford tough...........JIM
