Topper vs. xtras
Topper vs. xtras
So I sold my topper with the anticipation of getting a different topper. The old one was a hi-liner, too tall for the garage, and a new one would be cab-hi to be able to fit. Now that I have this cash I am thinking I don't need a topper and would rather have spray-in liner, guages, dif. guard, etc. Used ones for 3rd gens are going for $1000 or more around here. Maybe in a few years the prices will come down with more 4th gens around. I don't have a business where I need one. We use it mainly for camping/hunting. Going to get a truck camper in the near future anyway.
So chime in. How much do you actually use your topper for every day use and would you get one starting over?

i'm in the same boat. I sold mine and wish i had not. i'm looking for one but here in az they want new prices for a good used one. i will use it for camping and thats about it. and i like the way my truck looks with one better.
My opinion is to buy the gauges and stuff if you are planning to get a camper anyways. I also think that the price of canopies will go down as the truck gets older.
If you are looking for a used canopy/ topper, sometimes it is useful to browse trucks for sale in your area (that have a canopy) and leave your number with the seller in case the buyer doesn't want it. Some people love them and some people don't. Personally, I seem to go back and forth on my opinion depending what I have in the bed at any given moment.
