The Nitto Dura Grappler and Terra Grappler are available in 285/75/17, load range E. So do the Toyo Open Country A/T and M/T, also load range E.
I have not used either, so I cannnot comment on treadwear, though...

I've posted this before on similar threads but I have the Toyo AT in the 285-75. Best tire ever with the exception of wear. They are wearing out beyond fast. That being said, I'm going to get the MTs next because I think they look cool. I can't be practical all the time.

Good point. And if it makes you happy it's money well spent!

If you go with toyo, go with the MTs. Before I traded in my PS I had around 35k on them and they still had at least another 10-15k before needing to be replaced. I just picked up my mega and the dealer had put on some new cheap load E tires on it. Needless to say I just replaced those with a 295/70R17 MT. Best MT I've every had!!!

Nitto Dura Grapplers in the 285/75/17 fit just fine on the 2 wheel drives...Read this mdbrown thread.

Here are some pictures of the Nitto Dura Grapplers in Stock OEM 265/70/17 E (10 Ply):

The Terra Grapplers are more of an off-road tire and would probably do the trick. I picked the Duras because my 3500 is on the highway 99% of the time. Nitto was running specials for their tires on pricing. Just had mine installed for under $850.00 on Tuesday.

285 / 75 R17 Nitto Dura Grappler

I have the dura's on a 2004.5 4x4 and I absolutely love them.

The best price I found was through a goodyear dealer which surprised me but whatever, it was the best price for mounted / balanced / removal.

The tires are quiet and seem to have really good traction in 2wd mode.

The lugs are super deep - I especially love the 3900 lb load rating.
