Tire Rotation/Balance on Dually

I am a new owner of an '05 of a 3500 4x4 dually. Great truck and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I've never owned a DW truck before and I'm unsure about when and how you rotate these tires. Do you have to break these tires out and remount to move the front to rear, etc? At what mileage are most owners rotating, if at all ? Thanks for your input.

I have a dually , and you dont have too break the tires down unless you have white letters like I do. And then its only every other rotation. Hope this helps.

On my 04 dually the book says inside rear to front, front to inside rear, outside rear to outside rear. they are directional and the white letters must always face out, these are the goodyear optional tire, i think they were called off road or something like that with a little more agressive tread. What i have found is that the fronts don't wear down near as fast as the rears, my fronts still have lots of tread left after 50,000 miles, but the rears are worn down about twice as much, i rotate the rears side to side and the front side to side, when it's time for new rubber i will incorporate the spare and 3 new tires to replace the rears and further down the line the fronts, that way you are not putting out a lot of cash to replace all 6 hope this helps a little.

p.s. this is all highway.

You better check those g-year gsa's. I had to replace them at 28,000 mi. They were splitting in the inside around the bead. Not just dryrot cracking, you could almost see the cords. I just didn't feel safe w/ them. I replaced them w/ bfg rugged trails(245/75/17). They fit just fine. They came off a new powerstroke and I got them at a 4x4 shop for $560 out the door balanced. If your's are doing the same thing, g-year will adjust the tires, but it will only go toward another set of g-years. I have never liked them in the first place, so I had no complaints going to a diff tire.

Ya, i have heard of several people on here with that problem with the goodyears, even seen one pic that someone posted, all split around the rim, i keep a close on on them and so far, 50,000 miles and no problem.

Every 6000 mi on my dually ,make sure the clowns reinstall the valve stem extenders on the inside rears . Also pull spare and rotate it with others and reinstall yourself under truck . I have the white letter Generals and no probs at 20,000 miles ............ due hum a bit on the highway but they are WAY better than Goodyears .

Thanks for the help! Especially the info on the GoodYears and NTB. Does Discount Tire offer something similar for a new truck rotate/balance plan?
