Tailgate Spoiler

I wanted to know if anyone has added the new tailgate spoiler to their 2500 or 3500.

They come stock with the 1500 and I was not sure why they do not add them to 2500 & 3500.
Is there something I should know before I install one?
I only tow a travel trailer.

Liner

I thought about one until I had spray-in liner over the rail.
I think you have to drill holes in the tailgate for the spoiler.

Im pretty sure thats not a spoiler...
Maby a bed protector, but not a spoiler...

A spoiler use's wind resistance to push the rearend of a vehicle down during highspeed events...

They don't have to worry about fuel mileage in the HDs so they don't put those on our trucks. I've read that it will actually increase your fuel mileage and it looks pretty good too.

Spoiler

Put one on mine about 3 mts ago. Looks great, makes closing tailgate easier & gives me about 1 mpg better on trips. It assist air movement over tailgate at highway speeds. Bought from dealer for $76. Easy install, you do have to drill four holes in back of tailgate for screws, but add a drop of rustoleum to hole, let dry , then a dab of silicone to screw and install. One of the best looking mods I have done.

I bought mine off Bob Caldwell Mopar Parts on the internet for $60.24 a couple of months ago. Do not waste your money on the factory mounting screws because the tailgate requires nut clips ( little square holes ) to be installed to use them. I used black anodized aluminum 3/16'' pop rivets to attach mine. They look very similar to the factory torx head screws, won't rust, and won't vibrate loose. Pictures are in my photos section.

While I seriously doubt the 1 mpg improvement will apply to me, I also have a sprayed in bed liner, I have been able to ding the top of my taigate and one of these would cover the small ding that just drives me crazy and I think they look cool!!

I am also going to install one. Although I don't have any dings, it will prevent them. And it give some tailgate closing leverage. I will probably install one of those lowering struts as well. I do want to install before I replace my bedliner with Line-X.

When you guys have installed them, are you using the nutserts that the factory did, or just normal button head sheet metal screws?
