Swapping Seats?
Swapping Seats?
I have tried doing the seat mod. (adding foam) and it just isnt cutting it anymore.. And i have heard of a couple guys taking seats out of different vehicles and mounting them in.. Has anyone else done this? What models and what year did you take them out of.. What did you have to fab up to make them mount up? And if you couple possibly take some pictures that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance
I now will start looking for something that might work also.

I had major problems with the seats in my 03 just after I bought it. The dealer sent me to an uphosterly shop. We tried everthing but could not improve the seats.
I was given the seats from a new 02 by the dealer. He could not mount them because of safety issues.
I had a 16 x 16 x 1/8 inch steel plate cut for each seat. I drilled holes for the 02 seats and drilled and tapped holes for the pedistal mount. I threaded hardened steel bolts in the plate for the pedistal to make mounting studs. I then bolted the plate to the seat and then mounted the seat to the pedistal. I made a bracket from thinner metal for the seat switches and fastened it to the metal plate. I did lose the lumber support but I did not like it anyway.
The 02 seats are as great as my 97 seats were. The color is slightly different but no matter to me as the comfort is most important. I still have the 03 seats in storage and will put them back in the truck if I ever decide to sell the truck.
