Well technically yes, but you have to think about the idea of "porting" Its not just a hole in a box, there are walls and chambers involved (kinda like a mufflers design to reduce sound or promote a certain frequency like Flowmaster) You can create an "upfire" type setup and leave it open, but I don't think the sound will be what you want unless you seal the sub in an enclosure and then build a top over it. IMO, I've experimented with lots of setups in this truck and its been hard to please my ear with such little airspace. Hence I have a huge box in my back seat.

My Hot Box has enough air space for my JL and the cabs of these trucks aren't real large, one good 12" with an amp that is matched well to it will make enough bass to run you out of the truck. Just make sure you get a decent sub and an amp that has enough power to push it and I think you are going to be plenty happy with it.

I am probably partial to the Hot Box because I have one, but I did a lot of research prior to buying it. I like that the sub is centered in the cab, plus I didn't want to lose my rear seat storage.

Does the HotBox replace the bottom part of the middle front seat ? Can you still flip the top part up and down , to use a seat or an armrest?

I`ve never seen this item before (untill I checked out the link), but it looks like a good idea , but in my case , I`ll lose the underseat storage up front instead of in the back...

Yeah it just replaces the lower portion. The top part bolts right to the box and functions as usual. You could even still use it as a seat if you really wanted to, it would just be a little hard on the backside. The armrest/storage still flips up and down just like before.

Is there any way you could take some pic's of the top & bottom of your box? Seems I could make one SIMILAR real easy for 1/4 of the price.

I really like the way a sealed box sounds, with the right air space, and the super low bass you can barely hear. I'd really like to run a 12" JL Audio woofer in a nice sealed box, but the woofer needs 1.125 cubic feet of air space. The dual 12" foxbox is 1.8, that's .9 per side. I wonder how much air space a single 12" foxbox has? I bet it's close to perfect.
