steering stabilizer
steering stabilizer
I bet this has been asked alot but cut me some slack i'm new here, got all 4 of my new shocks mounted today with no probs, then came the steering stabilizer, removed bolt and nut off of the passenger side(came out just fine)then removed nut off of the other side.......couldn't budge it,how does it come out, hammer??????is it threaded in???????By the way it is a 03 Ram 2500 4x4,thanks for any help.
Had to heat mine w/ a cutting torch and dump cold water on it to get mine to pop out (mine's a '95). Guess the idiot on the assy line liked hammering on the nut on that tapered bolt with the impact wrench.
I spend the better part of a day prying, hammering, etc. I even cut the bolt off the front side, even w/ the hex, then used an impact. All that did was round off the hex.
If you ever have to heat one up to get it out, wedge a peice of sheet steel above that area to protect the wiring harnes or anything else that might sustain damage.
