Rusty Bumper

Anyone else having problems with their bumpers rusting. I was under the back of my truck today looking to see if the spare was good. Well I should have been looking for a spare tire since it is MIA. But I noticed the back of the bumper is all rusty. I also have spots of rust on the front bumper

I have a similiar problem with my '02 I chalk it up to the northeast winters. I'm going to pull my bumpers off and coat the insides with por-15 before winter sets in. I did this with one of my plow trucks, and it seems to be holding up pretty well

You have a corrosion warranty. Check your manuals for rules on it.

I don't believe it's covered as it's not sheet metal. The rear bumper on my 95ram rotted pretty early on. I've seen a number of 94-97 rams with the same type of corrosion near the middle like mine did. A friend of mine had an 00 and put a roll pan on. I bought his OEM bumper and it was still fine when I sold that truck last year.

Good idea in using the POR 15. I still have some left from the can I bought to do my receiver on the 95. I bet Rhino or Line X would be a good idea if someone was getting thier bed done.

Will the 3/36 cover it? My '05 's rear bumper is rusting. That's the only thing that makes me mad about this truck.
