Removed bed, taillight wiring woes
Removed bed, taillight wiring woes
Hello all. I've done some searching through old threads and couldn't find anything addressing this. I pulled the bed off my truck to haul a low-clearance trailer, and have some LED brake/turn/tail lights I'm trying to use.
My issue isn't the "Lamp out" indicator, I'm aware of the resistors needed to stop this. The problem is, I've found that there are separate circuits for the turns and brakes, and upon attempting to wire them to the same circuit on the new tails, the turn does not cancel out the brake light. The brake overrides the turn and makes it not function as it should. Has anybody done something like this and found a solution, or will I have to add an additional light for a turn signal?
The other solution I've thought about is wiring resistors into the factory taillight wiring, and just tapping into the 7-way trailer plug wiring. Just trying to keep it clean, without hacking into too much factory wiring.
The truck I'm working on is an '03 Ram 3500 CTD

I think oreilly auto sells them, you just need to wire it in. Piece of cake
