rear utility light install

Picked up some round utility / tractor lights at local Big R.
I am going to weld the mounts to the towhitch and install this weekend.
Anyone have suggestions what fuse to tap in and switch location?
I ws thinking the lighter circuit and placing the switch below the ash tray that panel pops off easily.

Any suggestions appreciated

2 months and 7000 miles all is great

It is illegal in some areas to have rear facing lights controlled by a switch. Some municapalities require that they be wired to your back up cct.

Why not wire them directly to your backup lights??

use a switch and relay right from the battery. you can use a 3 pole single throw switch and tie it into ur backup lights and be able to use the switch if u prefer.
I do recomend using a bright light tied into the switch so when they are on there is no way to not know and ur not driveing around blinding the traffic behind you

This is exactly how I did it. Click in my gallery to see pics of my lights. I picked up an inexpensive set of 55 watt fog lamps from Ebay. They make it much easier to back up at night. I have a 3 way switch so they can be operated independently of the reverse lights or can be switched off entirely. Here is a schematic that may help you that I posted in the following thread:
