Ranch Hand Replacement - Hit a Deer

I hit a deer w/ my 2004. Bumper, facia, grille are pretty tore up, but it looks like hood & fenders are OK. Anyway, thinking about getting a Ranch Hand instead of a factory bumper. I'm seeing prices around $950 (but that's probably w/o shipping). Any other ranch hand style (and rugged) bumpers that are less expensive?

Anyone know how the cost compares to a factory setup? The insurance company is Geico, and hopefully the adjsuter will give me a fair appraisal. Geico preffered for me to take to one of their shops (a local GMC/Buick/Cadallac/etc. body shop), but I rather go to an independent shop & not a factory shop.

My first Tough Country bumper allowed my truck to survive a wreck that destroyed two other vehicles...I even upgraded it when the other guy's insurance paid for it...I found the best deal on their products from Discount Hitch......Ben

Just an FYI. Insurance company cannot make u take it to a specific body shop. Take it where u want.
I like the tough country bumpers.
I heard too many complaints of ranch hand bumpers with bad paint and rust real fast. But that was a few years ago.

Here's the ranch hand I recently got. Someone hit me in a parking lot and drove off. Had the Dodge dealer replace the damaged intercooler & ac condensor. I got the bumper myself. Was cheaper than doing a factory replacement. Saved myself $480. Got it from Hendrys, outside of houston. They are on ebay, I dont remember the address. Search Dodge replacement bumpers and they should pop up.

this front bumper wasn't cheap (and I had to ship it clear across the country), but I pity the car or SUV that comes into contact with it

(space for winch behind the license plate)

can tow right from the bumper, no separate frame mount needed

Mark,

Any updates on whether you went with the upgraded front end (if so, who did you go with? And WHERE ARE THE PICS???)

If you haven't made a decision yest, I echo what Rockcrawler said...look into Backwood Bumper. He is a hell of a guy and offers a discount for DTR members.
Regardless of who you go with...SEND PICS!

This is definately on my list of upgrades...I have dented and scrathed the hell out of my front stocker, and with the way these d*mn chrome grills bubble, I'm looking for something to divert the eyes to something else up front (and maybe convince people to "move aside" in the hammer lane). I figure a front end bumper replacement that looks like something from a Mad Max movie will do the trick!

Let us know....
