go pre then if you choose to get a box that has a digital pyro gauge then you can go post and monitor both sides.

Pre is the only way to get an accurate reading.

I want to see the hotest temps my engine is producing.
I have one on top to monitor 1-3(attitude pyro) and one in the "collector" part of the manifold right before the turbo, in the back section, monitoring 4-6...

Mines pre-turbo, monitoring 4-6 temps at the collector. Best place to see max temps accurately.

Go pre. Unless you do what I did just for fun and have both pre and post. One gauge, selectable between two probes.

I agree, mine is pre also. However, most road tractors have them post turbo I think.

I had written a reply to this vote about pre and post turbo. But it seems to have dissapeared. I guess no matter what the site opinion is pre turbo.

In the future I will use this site as a read only forum. this isnt the first time and wont be the last time this has happened.

Good luck, keep the openess of the forums alive.

So is it really not worth installing one after the turbo?

I'm installing my Pacbrake this weekend and it has a port for a pyro. I was considering installing the pyro at the same time. Maybe I'll rethink it.
