Plow Mods

I have a snowplow and I am looking to get the front end ready for the season. We don't get much snow so I might plow 10-15 drives from 2-10 times.

I am looking at leveling kits because it would level out the truck for daily driving and put the front end about where it should be for the plow. The leveling would be for appearance only and I have read where some have gotten DW after installing leveling.

I am also looking at springs to raise and beefen up the front. They would be more than an appearance mod as they would help carry the weight of the plow and keep it from bottoming. But boy are there a lot of choices. And I don't want a harsh ride for 350 days just for the 5 or so days the plow will be on.

Would replacing the shocks help? When I level or do the springs? I was only going to do one of the two, (level or springs). Any shock better than others?

Would something like this be what I should do? http://www.lorenzindustries.com/kits..._leveling.html
Really don't want to spend the $550 if $75 leveling spacers will do what I want. But I don't want to waste $75 either if I should just have bought the spring/shock kit to begin with. Or would the factory plow springs be what i should do?

Sorry for asking so many stupid questions is such a short space. But thanks for the help.

I have a 9' western with some accesories on it so it wieghs in at 1,350lbs. Last 3 winter I have been running it on stock suspension with no problems. This year im installing 2" spacer in the front, 2" block in the rear w/home made rear ladder bars. I'm also gonna run the timbren ses kit on the front axle.

I run an 8ft. Western on my 2500 and have the Daystar spacers up front and stock rear suspension. With the plow raised up, the front barely squats down and I have no problems as far as bottoming out the plow or with the angle. Keep in mind that if you change the height of the front or rear, you will need to change the shocks. The leveling kit will max out the stock shocks and wear them out quicker than usual. I added a set of Rancho RS9000's and in my opinion, the truck rides better now than stock. If you need anymore information, please feel free to ask.

Why do I keep reading about leveling possibly making DW more likely? Besides shocks are their any adjustments or parts I should add if I level?
