Yup, it was very clay mud, and the tires slicked off FAST and would not clean. I don't think any tire would have. The front end slid over into some previously made ruts. In no time (<1 minute) I was sitting on the axles.

Hummer H2 wheels are 17 x 8.5".I have not had any rubbing with the 2.5" lift in the front and 1.5" in the rear.

Thanks for the info.
I'm considering the 35" Toyo's, but I'm concerned about putting them on stock rims (which are 8"). I think I might have to go down to the 295/70/17.

Shouldn't be an issue. I have 35" tires on 20" X 8.5" rims with a level kit --no rubbing from lock to lock.
