Yes so obviously 315/70 will be bigger in diameter than 265/17 but we all know what he was looking for

Just found this. Trying to keep it up and maybe it would cut down on all the other tire size threads.
Anyone with 315/70 on stock rim and suspension?

OK, the trucks look better with bigger tires. But looks are not everything. What I am wondering is how the larger tire with a D rating has affected the MPG, performance, tow ability and ride. I would guess that ride is almost always better. I have the stock 265's and when I tow, 7500 lbs, there are times going up grades that i feel a bigger dia tire would hurt. I am a stock SO 235 hp. and want to go to 285 tires.

When I put the 35's on every summer I do feel the difference in the way the truck drives. My winter tires are michilin 265 rated e. The truck drives like a truck, but not as bad as tires years ago. When I put on the 35's in spring it takes a little more of the right foot to get the truck going as the rolling weight is so much more. As for mpg it isn't that much more of a difference that would mae me change my mind to change them. The truck with 35's rated d ride so much nicer. Ive towed my race car with trailer and car weighing about 8000lbs many times with the 35's and never had a problem. So I don't fine any problems running the larger tire.
