That's why they call it a CHEATER METER!!!!! my 06 does'nt have one...and I don't miss it one bit!!!!

my overhead is always less than pencil figures but I don't reset but every couple thousand miles. I avereage 22 on a 110 mile a day commute with pencil. The overhead always says 20

Mine has never been more than .5 mpg off from hand calc in three years. I always fill the same and reset the mpg meter at every fill-up.

So if it`s calculating overall average, then why will it change to a lower readout in town and a higher one on the freeway.
It can`t add/subtract fuel. It reads current average. Not overall. That`s why everyone thinks it wrong.
