OH crap Power Seat Out (Driver Side)!
Hey Guys,
So I've got an 05' Ram 2500 and the driver side power seat has gone to hell. The problem is the seat will go up and it will go down but it will not go forward and will only intermittently go backward if at all after jimmying with the switch to go back about a dozen times.
I took it to the *********** expecting it wouldn't be too expensive to fix (I just thought it was a wiring harness or something) but they wanted $800 to fix it which is a bit ridiculous. Apparently the horizontal motor is out but I don't know about that because there is voltage still going to the actual motor and like I said it still will go back (sometimes).
I'm not too sure what to do but I really need to fix it since the wife drives the truck on occasion and she's a whole foot shorter than me. Anyways like I said I'm not really too sure where to start. Maybe take it to a general purpose mechanic shop to get a second opinion? Look into a used car parts shop? Maybe I can fix it myself? Anyone have any suggestions?

Very common problem. Just replace the motor(s) underneath.

I think the weak link in these seat motors are the plastic gears within. I believe the replacements are complete units which includes the gear assemblies inside the motor housing. To be sure, I would contact the company if you have any questions. They should be plug and play though.
