Unhappy OEM Infinity Stereo

I just noticed today my drivers side front and drivers side rear door speakers are not putting out the same volume as the the passenger sides. When checking the balance between right and left I can barely hear the drivers side speakers unless I increase the volume control quite a bit. What could be the culprit.

did this just start happening or do you think it could have always been this way? I remeber a recall or a TSB about polarity on the speakers being reversed from the factory. I'm not sure how the how the factory amp is wired up, but you may have a weak channel on the amp.

Check the wiring, it may just need to be patched due to a crack in the insulation, or you could have a wire that rubbed the insulation off and is sitting against the inner door frame, thats what happened to mine, I slid a piece of shrink wrap over it and heated it shut and it was fine.

I don't "think" it has always been that way, in fact I remember checking the balance before, but that's been quite awhile back. I just got to noticing the passenger side speakers were really blaring the sound out. I usually don't crank up the volume but I have in the past just to see what they would do.

I'll start with checking out the wiring on the amp for insulation chaffing because a couple years ago I did have the blend acuator door on HVAC system replaced and the dealership had to remove the dash in order to do the repair, they may have disturbed the wiring in a way it's rubbing againist something. Also will check out the speaker wiring at connections and the inside door panels.
