OEM CD player eats CDs!!

I have the factory single disk player in my 2004. Shortly after the 36000 mi warranty expired the CD player started acting up. Press all the buttons you like and it will not eject the CD until it is ready to on it's own time. Sometimes this may take a day or two. I can only take so much Kids Bop 9.
Has anyone else have this happen? It seems to be a kind of random thing.

My 2006 started doing it last week. It only did it once until today when it did it again. I'm taking it back in next week.

My original single disk unit ate a CD too. They replaced my factory unit with a new one under warranty and gave me $15.00 for a new cd. If it did it again, I would just put in an aftermarket stereo which I plan to do sometime anyway. This was a common complaint on the single disk cd players, at least in 04.

my 6 disk ate all 6 disks and was stuck on one cd... went in one day and complained about it, no questions asked they ordered a new one, next day new one was in, and much later [like 8 weeks iirc] i got by cd's back from the dealer [they send all their bad radios to a remanufacturing place and they were mailed back to dealer by them]

I had my single disk replaced on my 03, no questions asked they put in a newer version. The first thing I did was pull it out and install a after maket system.
I still have the factory radio brand new played maybe two songs. I am keeping it for when I sell the truck I can put it back in.

I suggest you go buy a cd player, along with a new trim plate ($20), and the wiring harness ($15) and install it your self.

Since I have all of my CDs on Ipod, I haven't used the CD player yet. I listen to Sirius most of the time when commuting. I think CDs will be abandoned like 8 tracks and cassettes have in the near future.

My 05 single cd does the same thing. It will usually spit it out after a couple hours. My friends 05 6 disc is starting to do it now too, just out of waranty.

I'll try the Meatloaf soon. It didn't like the Korn I fed it.

Mine swallowed one on Saturday. I made the appointment this morning. Tried again and it popped out. Service manager asked if it was a homemade one . It was. He says they have a bulletin about not using those discs, because of thickness?? I told him it would be nice if Dodge told us about this. I used those discs 3 years in my 03 without a hitch. I use them in any other player. My wife actually popped it out today, and tried it about 10 times, and it ejects. (What's the real story??) I phoned another dealer, and they said they just take the number off the back of the player, send it away for a new one, and the company that provides the player sends them the disc. I asked him if homemades make any difference, and he said not that he has heard.

Mine just did it lastnight on the way to work. Pushed eject and the cd symbol went away and no cd so I took aother one and slid it in the player just a bit and it fixed the problem and started playing the cd again and ejected just fine after that... so we will see if it does it again.

Question

I'm curious as to how many other "stuck" CD's were burned? Also, was there a bulletin to Dodge that "homemades" shouldn't be used as they are a different thickness, and may get stuck??

Mine weren't the actual cd's I bought in the store. I've had probably 5 different cd's get stuck. One got stuck in the cd player the night I bought the cd.
