New Purchase - Good Deal or Not???

Hope I don't get in trouble for posting here as well as in the "Other" forum but here goes. I have been shopping for my first CTD, was shopping used but have been unable to find what I want. I have found a new 03, stickers for $39235, dealer says invoice is $35160. Will sell at invoice minus rebates ($2500) for 32660. Here is what it is:
2003 Ram 2500 4X4 Quad Cab SLT, Long Wheel Base
$30900
5.9L HO Turbo Diesel...........$5225
6-Spd Manual Transmission....$400
Premium Cloth Seats.............$455
Protection Group..................$ 95
Trailer Tow Group.................$275
Sliding Rear Window..............$140
Trailer Tow Mirrors................$ 80
Keyless Remote Entry............$190
Fog Lamps...........................$140
Radio/AM/FM & CD................$750
Tires - On/Off Rd..................$200
Shield, Front Protection..........$ 90
Destination...........................$795
SubTotal Sticker.................$39735
Regional Discount...................$500

Total.................................$39235

Anyone think of a way I can do better? I know about the Farm Bureau Discount, but I'm not a member, could sign up but you have to be a member for 30 days before you can get the discount. Any information would be appreciated. I'm located in the Kansas City area and the truck is only about 75 miles away. Thanks for any info.

That sounds about like mine, except mine is a 3500 DRW with the E-Brake. Mine invoiced at $34,760 and $2,500 came off that for the rebates. I did not get the sliding rear window or the on-off road tires, but I got the E-Brake for $299 (they have since gone up a lot on that add-on option). Sounds like a pretty reasonable deal.

The price isn't bad and if it's got everything you want on it, it's a good deal. I, myself was offered a slightly better deal on an '03 but it didn't have a few things I wanted so I ordered an '04. The way I looked at it was that with the order, I'd end up with $1500 in rebates instead of $2500 because the '04s have $1000 and it takes 30 days to get the Farm Bureau for the other $500. The over $1000 in price difference ( the diff from price increases and smaller rebate) doesn't bother me because I'm making it up in the depreciation from an '03 vs an '04.

Sounds like a good deal to me. If you want this truck, pull the trigger before someone else does.

Try offering them $500 under plus rebates. It's an 03 which, even though new, is a year old now. If they hold to invoice, it's still an OK deal. I wound up getting mine for $1K under invoice and the rebates ($2500 and $750 military), so there are dealers willing to deal to move these out. Good luck!

You can definitely get another $300 off for having a "business." Even if it's just a sole proprietorship it should be fine.
