Need the "low down" on ordering a 2004 3500 H.O.
Need the "low down" on ordering a 2004 3500 H.O.
Well I am about ready to order a 2004 3500 Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4 H.O. 6 speed. Is there any particular items or issues I should be aware of? Should I wait and order one later in the year (2004)? I know that the diesels are on hold and uncertain why. I just want to get the best truck for the money. And with minimal hassel and problems. ;D
Any help on the above questions would be super. Thanks 8)

I havn't seen or heard of any problems lately but in the past there was the problem with the alternator bracket and low diff fluid from the factory. There is currently an issue with drone/vibrations but I'm not sre how much of an issue it is. About the hold on diesels, I don't know what the deal with that is. I was at my dealership this past Saturday asking about the hold others have been reporting and he said their couldn't be a hold because he just ordered one the day before (Friday) for a guy.

I'm wondering if we are misinterpreting it and the "hold" is that the emission compliant engines will be installed Jan 4 or 5th instead of Jan 1. Meaning they won't build diesels for 5 days. Just speculating. FWIW
