National Seating - Air Ride Seat

Anyone ever install one of these National Seating air ride seats in your Dodge Ram Quad Cab?

They also have the air ride suspensions that the seat mounts to, but suposedly they will not work with Dodge factory seats.

The seat, suspension, and air supply is kinda pricey, but they would make a very comfortable ride.

Yep. I have one and Herb on here has 2 I believe.

If you are good with fabrication then you can make the Dodge seat work with an air ride base. You will sit up higher than before, about an inch. I had to modify the mounts a bit and it took about a day to get the seat working.
If you are only running an air seat and don't want onboard air you can get away with a small tank that you fill up once in a while. I have train horns and use the onboard air for air tools so I have a full compressor system, tanks etc.

If I had the $$$$ I would put an air ride at the wheels. But the seat is a good compromise.

Did you get the seat and the air ride suspension, or just the suspension? I got a quote for the following from Nick at Industrial Seats (like I said, kinda pricey, but would make a really nice seat):

Actually, the Sportster HD would not fit into your Dodge. The seat cushion is much thicker, leading you to ride too high in the cab. The regualr Sportster would be the best seat that could fot in there. It's the same basic design as the HD, just with a somewhat flatter cushion. It is available with or without amrests, and you would be able to get a bracket to retain your center console but only if you were replacing both the driver and passenger sides.

Your total cost on the 2-Tone Black fabric Sportster for one seat is $1262.28 (seat+suspension+compressor+shipping to TX). If you wanted an amrest, you would simply add $61.21. Shipping for one seat to TX would be $125.00.

Your cost for two would be $2217.27 (two seats, two suspensions, one compressor, bracket to keep center console, shipping to TX). if you wanted 2 armrests, you would add $122.42. Shipping for two seats to TX is $175.00.

Once again, feel free to ask me any other questions you need.

If you do have the National Seat, how do you like it? Any complaints?

I only bought the air base and used the existing dodge seat. I also built my own console brackets (took 15 mins)
You will need some fab experience if you want to use the dodge seats. Cutting and welding required.
I think I paid 300ish for the base.

Any chance of posting some photos of the install? I have an 01 and they say the brackets don't fit it. Arggggg, fabricating something again.......

problem with the '01 is the seat belts. You need belts that go into the body. With the air seat and the belts on the seat if you crash you are going to go through the windshield WITH the seat. Nothing to hold you back.
