Mopar Tailgate protector

Anyone know if you can put one of These on after you have had your bed sparyed? Or is it such a tight fit that I won't work?

assuming the bed is sprayed "over the rails" then it seems like with wouldn't be able to sit flush. A few minutes with a die grinder or file could fix that.

I just put one on my truck... I have a sprayed on bed liner.

What it takes is a grinder. You have to grind the top of the tailgate (top when open) about 1" (I used the protector as a template). Then to get the edges to go over the top (when closed) I used the grinder on end and ground away the liner. The protector just slips in and fits great, looks really good "sunk" into the spray on liner as well.

Humm.... Well I don't really feel like doing all that. I guess I will just have them repair my liner and leave it be. I hate the fact that they don't strip the area and respray. They just goop some of the crap on a stick and slap it on there. Looks like crap. And my geniouse wife ripped the crp out of my liner while I was deployed, then had the nerves to say, I don't know how it got like that!

It really was about a 30 minute install, including the grinder work.

I just found mine on Craigslist for a steal. I have a Rhino Liner that comes over the rail and I installed the spoiler right over the top of it with no problem whatsoever. Maybe some of you guys got a thicker coating than mine. It is perfectly flush on the backside....
