Lost and upset!

On my way home tonight i raced a grand cherokee older(90's) appered stock and he beat me im ******. I desperatly need to go faster this is crap im so ****** off. Mabe a new tranny or injectors would help the thing is geared like a semi, redlined in 3rd then wouldn't shift into od with the pedal to the floor. Whatever sorry for this but I gotta vent to someone lol.

Tranny upgrades and a SMARTY will fix you right up!

Probably want to also upgrade the lift pump.

Well.

To beat the Grand Cherokee, I agree a Smarty with a new transmission to start. And definately going to want to upgrade the lift pump, maybe injectors, a turbo. Going cost you some bling, but you can do it.

If 3.73 geared and running 35s that didn't help the shifting or performance.

The 4.0 motors can be built pretty quick turbo, blower ect.Not knowing where you are look out for a MJ P/U of my wife next year. She's dropping a 360 with a 700R4 trans in one.And keeping it stock on the outside.

Just sneer at them like they are not worth racing. Works for me.

Sometime in the mid to late 90's, for one year the Grand Cherokee was available with the HO 360. Big difference in that and a 4.0L. They were extremely fast stock. Could have been what you were up against.

There were lots of 318 Gran Cherokees out there.Saw a few Liminted Edition 360 Gran Cherokees. One I remember a lot with a overheating issue.Liminted Editions had elect.cooling system fans instead of fan/fan clutch.

First thing I'd do if I were you is age about 10 years. Once that happens you'll realize that no matter how fast you are, there will always be someone a little faster. Once you have that licked, you won't really care how fast you can go.

In 1998 only the Grand Cherokee was offered with a limited edition High output 5.9L. High compression engine(premium fuel only) with some changed up software. 245hp, was the quickest GC untill the hemi want into it.

My parents have one, pases anything but a gas station, gets like 10mpg and needs premium. You can take comfort in that! I raced them a couple of times, with mods I have I can keep up rolling from 50mph right to the gov but from a stop no contest, they slayed me big time!

You've got 35" tires sucking back the juice, what did think would happen? You cann't have it all. Big or fast, pick one.
