loose tow mirrors

loose tow mirrors

does any body know what is the way to tighten up the passanger side tow mirror ,it is loose outside at the joint.I took the cap off under the arm where the power wire goes up and did not see how to make it tighter thank

i had the same problem when my truck was under warranty. the dealer said they could not tighten it- no way to do it (this is according to them!) they had to replace the whole thing! which they did.

i am out of warranty ,so I guess I will have to live with it ,just a little loose on passanger when wife closes the door.I know they are not cheap!!!I was just being fussy .

I purchased a trailer mirror on e-bay for 30.00 bucks, good price I thought, now how do I change it, on passenger side. thanks in advance. Wskiftun

The glass in mine are loose, both Driver & Pass. side. I think there was some instructions on site here on how to tighten the glass up. Never did, just put up with it.

Its kinda a PITA, you have the take the entire door panel off. And be careful when you do this, its very very easy to break the panel. I almost did, it seemed like the panel was coming off easily but there was one press screw that i didnt notice and it started bending my panel, now i have a little white spot where it bent the plastic. All you need to do is pop all the press screws out and lift the door panel off. If you have power windows/locks, you have to take that panel off first. Then its just 3 screws holding the mirror to the door. The panel is the only hard part of the change.
