I hate to say it, but I don't think you are going to be impressed with the vortracs either. I almost bought those, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Not many people I know have run them, especially on a diesel truck. They are, at their core, Interco super swamper tires. So, that being said, expect them to wear rough, and be out of round, taking a lot to balance.

Glad my link can help you out.... I am fairly confident that Pro comp's will last quite a bit longer than swampers.

How many miles are you getting per set that you have been through 5 sets in a year and a half?

You are correct,...I was thinking Cooper and typing Dunlop,...

The only set I've really worn out were the 285/70-17 BFG AT's, and they lasted about 40'000km, Great tire especially in the snow and ice but 10K on gravel pretty much did them in.
Then I bought a set of 285/70-17 BFG MT's they were on the truck for less than 500km, I should have bought them in 35's as I just couldn't get past how small they look after leveling, now they sit in the garage collecting dust.
I replaced those with the DC MudCountry's in 35x12.5-17,. I'm really happy with them thus far but they are wearing rather fast (300+KM a day), gonna use them til spring if they pan-out in the snow.
I bought the X-AT just for towing (E-rated) They've made one trip to MOAB and back (EJS) and wore really choppy on the rear, I just don't think they could handle the weight (too soft?), 2000+lbs in the box (best guess) and 500lbs toungue weight.
The stockers I tried to burn off ASAP then gave them away.

BFG AT

BFG MT

PC X-AT

DC MC

Yeah, I'm a big Swamper fan but also know of their downfalls as a streetable tire, I'm kinda hoping their new line, VorTrac and TrailerTrac, are outside the norm for Interco,...I guess time will tell

PS: Sorry bout the threadJack

One question, now that I know they are directional ... what are you guys doing when you rotate them, seeing as the rears are supposed to be moved diagonally to the fronts? The fronts just go straight back but the rears would be spinning the wrong direction. Are you just rotating them straight forward or popping the tires off and flipping them?

Nope, I just rotate the fronts to the rear, and the rears to the front. No sense in popping tires off the rim, IMHO.
