large offset rims

I have a 06 megacab 4x4 it came with a 3" lift and 35" tires, I wanna put it back to stock height and put the origional 265"s back on it (or maybe 285's at most) It has fender flares on it that I like so I would like to buy rims with a different offset so the wheels stick out flush with the fender flares like the 35's do. Will it be hard on the front end and steering components with the larger offset wheels? And will the steering feel different with the different rims? Thanks in advance
