Anyone done just the insert part, if so does it snap in or physically replace the SLT mesh stuff?

I Purchased the inserts about 5 years ago on ebay. You use a push lock plastic fastner. The fastner I purchased from a local auto parts were a little large so I used a drill to slightily enlarge the hole. Fairly simple install. I replaced the slt insert.
