Just Read RAM engineer thread :(

I read the whole darn thing...all questions and all the answers. Some things that stick out to me: The real problems we all face were never really addressed. The engineers always redirected to their 'New' designed 'improved' models.

The dash issue, the blend door issues, the weak front end issues, the bad u-joints...Basically there was never an answer to those problems for the millions of owners that still have these trucks.

They were her to sell new trucks I feel.

I know the thread was old but I still have two 'old' 2003 models. I am still facing these issues that we all have. And still no real answers straight from the people who designed them.

You are correct in that they were not trying to supply answers for old problems, they did however state that they didn address a lot of those problems in the newer trucks.

Now the whole time they were online here I was on a conference call with them and I could hear the discussions around the conference table as they formulated their answers to the questions......one thing that became apparent to me early on is the fact that they do not really have a grasp on the fact that so many of you USE these trucks AS trucks.

They seem to be more geared toward making Cadillacs in the shape of a pickup, at least that was my take on it...When someone asked for locking hubs instead of a button on the dash they said "why the heck would they want that?"

Same thing with suspension issues and towing weight....they seem to think the major market is in people who want a truck that rides like a car because all they use it for is to haul a few plants home from the nursery on the weekend. I got the impression that it is ALL about creature comforts instead of a reliable work platform.

Just my honest take on it.......

I assume that is there target market thought, people that pull horse trailers, boats and GC that use there trucks as offices. I can say right now I don't use my truck to its potential. I drive a diesel cause I can and I love diesel.

Hell my love for diesel runs so deep we built a diesel powered snowmobile for my senior design project

Your right on the creature comforts. Who the heck needs coolers in the back floor boards, heated and air conditioned leather seats (I'm sure they're nice, but come on!!). Holly Hanna, they're becoming more of a status symbol, than a truck.

So far I can my 2012 is better then my 03 and my 05.

With seeing issues with power steering, u joints, turbos, e-brake handles, head gaskets, injectors, blend air doors, most important tie rod end failure and the list can keep going.
I dont think they really solved any of their issues, they just placed them on back burner and added cooled seats and blue tooth to WOW us into thinking they made a better truck. In fact all they did was add a few features, bump the price up substantially and pat us on the bum and say there you go.

Like sheep we bought them..

Maybe these guys need to get out of the city and spend a year out in the oil fields, farms, ranches, construction sites, pipelines, towing operations before they can be allowed to work on a heavy duty truck. Creature comforts are nice and many are over the top. But if they can't build a basic platform that holds up for the environment it is MARKETED and intended for, they're building lies.
