Michelin tire user review

I must admit the tires ride well and they hold up extremely well. The only I have had to do is switch them out in the winter months because they have terrible traction on snow and ice relative to an AT tire in Colorado. Now I am looking for a custom set of rims for my Michelins and I will run them for > 1/2 the year.

Long lasting road tire.

The ole man got 75K-80K out of his stock set of Michelins 245, 16

I have the BFG's on mine 265, 17 and at 36,000 I'm at 10/32's tread (new 15/32) so I'm looking to get 75K-80K out of them too. Actually not since it's getting lifted, but otherwise yes.

All those miles were mostly towing and hauling. A LOT has to do with the skinny pedal under the right foot. I've seen people bash a tire, however everytime they stop, they point to the 2 long black lines and say those are mine, those are mine of course you only got 40,000 out of them

I disagree on the ride, mine rode horrible.. My ride is 10x better with my 285's. Even with the 285's at 70psi they ride better than the Michelins at 40psi..

I got 65000 on mine and rotated them 2 times,I think I would have left them on longer but it was time for the inspection sticker so put Pirellis on, and really like them alot, have the same ratings and about half the price. They seem to have better tracton too.

I've liked every Michelin I've ever had. When these get to the point of needing to be replaced, I'll swap the new spare and buy three more.

Two of my buddys with the Michelins loved them. They towed all over in all kinds of weather. When they wore out they used the spare and bought more. One with the RWL Generals did the same. All sets of them went over 90k including the replacments. My truck came with Goodyears. They wore poorly.I was jealous the others came with Michleins or Generals that went so many miles.

I have 40k on my stock 265/17/70E Michelin ltx a/s and they are wore out. I never do burn outs ( I am 63 years old so what would be the point). I have had trouble twice with spinning the tires in gravel/mud were I had to heat the tires to keeping going. I do tow a 13k 5er and keep the air pressure high. The tires wore even I just did not get the kind of milage I am reading about.

I am considering three tires :
1. Nitto dura "Highway tread"
2. Michelin ltx A/T 2
3. BFG commercial traction

I wonder why some of you aren't seeing more than 60,000. I drive like normal, brake like normal, tow occasionally, keep my tires inflated to what the decal inside the door reads, rotate my tires every 15,000 and had it aligned once last year. And, I still have 2/3 tread left beyond my 53,000 that's on them.

Like I mentioned, I know they aren't an all-terrain tread, but I've never had to throw the chains on them either to get me out of somewhere.

I got 40k out of mine before the sidewalls cracked and had to be replaced. There was about 30% tread left so they do last awhile but handling wise they suck. They ride rough and have terrible wet and snow traction. My Dura Grapplers make the driving experience of my truck 100 times better in every way. I will never buy Michelins again. I replace tires every 4 to 5 years anyway so tread life is somewhat relative, although I expect to get alot of miles out of my Dura Grapplers, they are wearing great so far.

I love these Michelins! They're quiet. Great handling....especially when I pulled a Ford out of a muddy mess last year!

They are marbles. IMO, the rubber will dry out and become dangerous before the tread will die. They are terrible on snow. Great tiure if you lived in the southwest. Terrible tire for the midwest. I'll use them up though. I'd expect 50-60K out of them.

I bought a truck that had the originals at 120,000 miles. Still some legal tread left. Replaced with same (missed the new version by months, grrr), and, at 23,000 miles am seeing 1 to 2/32 tread wear.

About 35000 miles and I took them off to put some real tires on. My dad is running them out for me.
