How to hotwire AC?
I need to get the AC temporarily working until it can be properly diagnosed.
No power to the compressor clutch. No power at the high pressure cut-off switch. Dunno why no power. I gather there is no fuse to check. I looked.
If I were to temporarily supply switched 12v to the high pressure cut-off switch (clip & splice) would the "out" from that switch then go to the compressor clutch and get everything running manually? This until we can figure out the problem and solve it properly.

I located a 2000 Ram shop manual. Don't know if the AC wiring is the same as my 2006, but if it is, my plan won't work. The high pressure switch is not in the compressor line. Instead, it provides a signal to the PCM. The PCM grounds the AC relay which powers the compressor. If I hotwire the compressor, I won't have any high pressure cut off protection.
Anyone have a 2006 shop manual so I can double check that the wiring is similar to the 2000?

I can check this evening, but if I recall correctly there are a couple fuses involved and both the High and low switches are connected in series with the power lead to the compressor coil. The TIPM (power management module) has been known to cause strange things to happen.
Connecting power directly to the compressor coil will defeat the protection, but perhaps disconnecting the control signal and hard wiring the switch/coil circuit may work.
I think someone posted a circuit here at one point.
