How does the truck tell you that a code has been set? I haven't had one yet (I don't think).

The reason I ask is that today while driving to work in the dark my headlights and foglights started alternating back and forth for about 5 seconds and I didn't even have the foglights on! My first thought was that maybe it was some kind of code.

The easiest way is to turn on the ignition while holding down the trip reset button. This has the gauges run a self test mode at the end of the event the ODO will flas any codes that may be set bring a pen and paper and right the numbers down.

Or turn the key from off to on three times without cranking the engine. Or the dead giveaway is that your check engine light will be illuminated.
