Height of Driving Lights?

The headlights on the old Dodge aren't so good (and my eyes are getting old), I was thinking of adding some driving lights. I saw a PIAA kit which mounts driving lights in the current fog light location in the bumper. However I am wondering if that would be too low to get good illumination down the road? Would I be better off mounting them on top of the bumper?

Thanks for your help.

I think you would be fine mounting them in the fog light locations. What is the beam pattern? More flood or more beam or a combo pattern?

Here's where I have my aux lights, 2 wide beam driving lights for animal spotting and two pencil beams for down the road:

Those lights look great! The PIAAs 540s are a 55w driving light, a fairly narrow beam but still DOT approved. They come with mounting brackets to fit in the factory fog light position in the bumper, or you could just drill the bumper and mount them on top.
