Heater/AC filter?

Does anybody know if and where the filter for the heater/AC is? (05 quad) When I got this I had to dive 180 miles home and I needed a smoke (yes I'm one of those) and now when I get in it after it has been sitting for a while and turn the AC on I can smell stale smoke, and I know for a fact I'm the only one that ever smoked in it, but only a couple times, hehehe

I don't think there is one. You may have to try Febreeze or something or just wait for it to air out.

I have waited, it has been over 2 weeks and when you turn the AC on you can smell it at first then it go's away. Just wondering if there was a filter in the (rec) side, my chevy had a foam filter and I thought most did, but thats the next thing is to stick a air freshener where ever the air intake is.

thanks

Try this:
Run the AC/Heater w/outisde air intake (don't remember the terms for DC)
Spray lysol into the cowl air intake

I've used this to clear up a moldy smell in the truck, and haven't had to do it for ~3 years now. I'd think it should work for cig smoke too!

Thanks, I'll look for that intake and try that, it should get to the filter either way. The incomming air Y's, from the outside and the inside and then (should) go through the filter, I would like to get to the filter but getting something to the filter would be easyer.

Thanks again

If it HAD a filter it would be INSIDE were it can be gotton to.I don't think I've ever seen it advertised on these trucks.Take a hand towel and use a fair amount of FREBREEZE or DOWNY fabric softner on it and fold it,leave it under the seat etc.keeps lots of foul smells down and absored.

Put a fabric softner sheet under the dash on the rt side or under the seat on the rt side this will help take out the odor.
